Township of Shaler, Manager
Thank you for this opportunity. I am Timothy J. Rogers the Township Manager. i would like to express my concern for dividing the Township into more than 1 legislative district. It is not in our interest to be serviced by more than one representative district. Additionally we would like to be included with the Township of Hampton into a legislative district . Our two Townships have initiated joint programs including the merger of our water system into the Hampton Shaler Water Authority now serving 5 communities. We have also merged our EMS into the Shaler Hampton EMS serving 4 communities. We also provide for reciprocal coverage to our pools. Additionally the Township has a 23% senior citizen population who are adverse to driving across any rivers for assistance by a legislative office. They have expressed difficulty in finding parking, the office location and physically entering the legislative office so they simply do not go there.
