Legislative District 59
I urge that you please consider keeping District 59 as is. Our District has experienced the recent trauma and turmoil of the untimely death of legislator Mike Reese, which led to a special election and office relocations. During the transition, we had many constituents say they would wait months for the nearest office to open, rather than travel to the other side of the district for assistance. Currently the district offices are conveniently located for the constituents of District 59 and have been made handicap accessible. Many citizens regardless of their age do not have home computers, internet access nor smart phones. Changing the district will create hardship for the people of these communities in receiving valuable information in a timely matter. The new map of the district further complicates matters for those living in this area. Please do not change the boundaries of the 59th District at this time.
