Legislative District 59

Our district is just beginning to function again after experiencing the recent trauma and turmoil of the untimely death of Rep. Mike Reese, a special election (in which I was involved as treasurer of my local republican committee), and office relocations. During the transition, we had many constituents say they would wait months for the nearest office to open, rather than travel to the other side of the district (which would happen again in my area under the new redistricting). The 59th legislative district is very rural with spotty access to high-speed internet and cell phone service. Changing the district creates a barrier to accessing their legislator due to issues with receiving timely information and GPS availability. Westmoreland has a high concentration of senior citizens. This community tends to be on a fixed income. They are ill-equipped to buy and learn new technology that will help them find their new legislative office. I am a school board director in Ligonier Valley School District and have a real feel for the people. WE NEED OUR 59TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT TO REMAIN THE WAY IT IS!!!
