Legislative District 59
Our district 59 has experienced the recent trauma and turmoil of the untimely death of Rep. Mike Reese, we went through a special election that WE THE PEOPLE have chosen the Representative that we wanted, we went through district office relocations and during this transition, many said they would wait for months for a nearest office to open or remain rather than have to travel to the other side of the district. During that special election, WE THE PEOPLE of the 59th district have spoken with our choice of WHO we wanted to represent us, the constituency. The 59th legislative district is a very rural district with spotty access to high-speed internet and cell phone service. Changing this district will create barriers to access their legislator due to issues with receiving timely information and GPS availability, not to mention, taking away our voices by taking our Legislator away, from the very people that chose this legislator. Westmoreland has a high concentration of senior citizens with limited ability to travel long distances to visit their legislator’s office, which are now conveniently placed, and accessible as well as ADA accessible. This community tends to be on a fixed income and many are ill-equipped to buy and learn new high technology that will help them find a new legislative office let alone, get to know a total stranger they themselves did NOT vote for, to represent them. It is highly important to leave our Representative in our 59th district since WE THE PEOPLE of the 59Th have made that choice. I urge you to keep OUR elected voice in OUR 59th District. Being Vice-Chairman of the District 8 Westmoreland County Republican Committee, I must urge the importance of keeping our ELECTED Legislator, Representative Rossi, in our 59th Legislative District.
