178th redistricting
My wife and I are displeased with the proposed 178th District Map. We live in Northampton Township on the Southeast side of Route 532 which according to the map will separate us from the rest of the Township and become part of District 142nd District. The 142nd District is primarily all the Langhorne and Middletown municipalities and the Neshaminy School District. We live in the Council Rock School District and I wonder how the new Representative (whom we were not able to cast an election vote either in favor of or not in favor of) is able to representative our interests when we are a small population living in a different township with different problems and funding issues and a different school district. This new map is dividing communities which could lead to a furtherance of an ineffective government and a dissatisfied base because we are not being represented even though the elected official is serving the larger good but not my community because of us living on the other side of the Neshaminy Creek, a natural township and district boundary which is why we are a different township. Passing legislation for a small population doesn't help any elected official with their ability to be re-elected, so our fear is that our interests will be neglected due to the location of our residence.
