Comments TO 2022 LRC House Districts

I support the adoption of the proposed 2022 LRC House District Map. This map is a significant improvement over the 2011/12 map that was drawn with an extreme Republican Bias. In order to correct the imbalance from the 2011/12 map and to account for population changes, a noticeable number of currently republican districts were drawn in ways that may favor the election of a democrat. By most measures the new map still has an overall Republican advantage. My district 2 would be changed so that I would be I believe in District 1. The lines of those proposed districts appear to be reasonable and switching legislators is not a problem to me. I believe these districts which had unopposed incumbents in 2020 should and would be more competitive under the LRC proposal. I have heard presentations by numerous members of the Hispanic and other minority communities. I feel our voters should have an opportunity to be in districts that provide true opportunity to elect Hispanic and other minority representatives. I believe Amanda Holt's 1b and 1A proposed revisions will do a better job of meeting that goal. In summary I support the Proposed LRC House map with the consultation with the Hispanic and minority community and consideration of substituting Amanda Holt's map 1B.
