In 2001 the Township that I live in was split up into at least 4 districts because the politicians did not like the way that the Democrat State Rep voted. 10 years ago was no better as most of Allegheny County was a gerrymandered mess. That is why I became a plaintiff in the Amanda Holt case before the PA Supreme Court. The decision said to the LRC fix it. Yet all the politicians did was help their friends and Allegheny County was still gerrymandered. Now in 2021, 2 people who are not running for state rep making it easy to fix Allegheny County. Summer Lee is running for Congress LD34 and Ed Gainey is now going to be Mayor of Pittsburgh LD24. LD24 will go to another part of the state with more population, Maybe Lancaster Chester County area... Allegheny County will lose a district because the districts need more population than in 2011, LD34 will be used for an open seat in the North Hills 40,000+ is Ross Twp and West View which is North Hills School District. Population growth in the Northern suburbs make it possible to create this district using parts of the excess population from other districts combined with Ross/West View In doing this I checked the voting address of all incumbent state reps in Allegheny County to make sure that I didn't get them out of their district. I was able to do that in other counties for a few reps. Also because of the loss of population in the Northwest, Erie County loses one state rep. ALSO, I did use the exact same wards and divisions for DISTRICT 170 the only Republican in Philadelphia County was amazed the numbers worked so close. Didn't want to try to do the whole state cause do not know the area and anything I would propose would be ignored. I did submit a statewide plan for Senate In Allegheny County, it was so easy to make a democrat district just by adding up enough full Wards to equal 64,000 + case LD23 is ward 14 15 7 and is 63,995. LD19. No Ward splits is 64,050 which used to be badly gerrymandered. District 27 only had 3 districts split from their ward to get to 64,050. All Pittsburgh city districts. THE only place that got split up 3 ways was O'Hara Twp because LD30 needs one precinct to connect with Fox Chapel. And the Township is a weird shape so the rest is split between districts 21 and 33. So that both districts are close to the goal number. Beaver, Butler, Washington, Greene, Fayette, Somerset Counties I think that all are very close to what the districts should be. Changed District 54 which was badly gerrymandered into Allegheny County Also thought that it made sense to put the 91 people of Trafford which is a town on the county line of Allegheny & Westmoreland into the 56th district so the town would be whole. Would be great for the Legislative Redistricting Commission to have a hearing in Western Pennsylvania.
