Redistricting Bucks County
Dear Commission. Thank you for reviewing my comments. Please please please keep Bucks county districts as close to it is now. Keep retain Bucks County district. Maintaining the existing map is fair and keeps communities together allowing for a better voice for us in Harrisburg. Being an extension of Philadelphia we make Bucks like Rockledge money flows to city programs and Bucks won’t benefit. Its important to maintain as close to the original as possible. As you know, the current districts are beneficial, and the new districts would be detrimental. Some drawbacks to the LRC proposed district map are; • Municipalities are further split than under the current map • School Districts are MORE split • Complication of current casework handled by current office, shuffled over to new Legislative District • Removes the competitiveness that Bucks County is famous for • Takes control from people and gives it to parties which furthers partisanship and polarization of communities Please preserve our historical beautiful Bucks county!
