New Hope Borough Voter Suppression
The removal of New Hope Borough and Solebury Township from House District 178 will weaken the voice of voters in these important towns within the legislature. Current local office holders in these areas are dominated by the democratic party and have run uncontested for many years, and where the incumbent candidates don't even bother to campaign. The only republican office holder is our State Representative (178) who has captured a minor but growing segment of the voter population in the last elections. Assigning New Hope and Solebury to another district will forfeit the progress made to introduce competition, introduce competitive thought and silence any voice for New Hope and Solebury in the legislature.
