Changing the lines of the 82nd district
I listened today, Jan. 14th, 2022 to the testimonies in front of the commission by Commissioners' Partner of Juniata Co. and Postal of Mifflin Co. and agreed with what they testified to. I was really impressed with Alison Fishers testimony because she explained how it would affect the lives of everyday people and their struggles when help is needed. My sons were having an awful time with their UC benefits. They went to our local office in Mifflintown and were able to get the assistance they needed from Rep. Hershey. The office is a 15 minute drive from our home compared to a 45 minute drive if the lines are changed. Our older folk (I'm 65) so I'm talking older residents may not be able to drive or have someone who can take them to the places they need to go for assistance as well as the low income families who might not be able to afford a car and the insurance and depend on someone to get them there. So please consider leaving Juniata and Mifflin Counties as they are. Thank you! Janet A. Imes
