We The People Not We The Party

The Courier-Times Editorial board hit the nail on the head. "Competition breeds excellence. It breeds innovation. It instills a sense of urgency to be effective and a means of accountability for those who aren't. Removing competition invites complacency." This is true for business as well as politics. We will see more and more extreme positions if we gerrymander safe districts for politicians. The only competition will come from within a party, causing more extreme positions to win a primary. Then we all lose in the general election. Do the right thing. Create a map that encourages competition. The best ideas will always win out if the vote is not rigged from the start. Pennsylvania will win with competitive districts.
