Redistricting Process
Friends, I have been following the process of drawing new District lines in PA and write to affirm that fair Districts be drawn, not Districts gerrymandered in any way that Speaker Cutler and Majority Leader Benninghoff are clearly striving for. I write about both House and Senatorial Districts. I oppose HB2207 in its present form. Please allow a floor vote for Rep. Steve Samuelson's amendment that would finally give PA voters the independent citizen's Commission that we have been asking for. Furthermore, I completely oppose merging portions of Bethlehem and Allentown into one State Senate Seat. As Senator Lisa Boscola has stated, this will weaken both cities, local school districts, and Counties. Bethlehem should remain united in its 18th Senatorial District.
