Further improve State House District 33
I appreciate the hard work done by the commission and the vast improvement in my district (current 30th, new 33rd). Previously, my school district (Fox Chapel Area SD, FCASD) was split between four representatives. In the new plan, my school district (a very important constituency of common interest) is represented by a single representative, with the exception of a single ward of Aspinwall. This is a huge improvement, but the lone Aspinwall ward really belongs in the same district as the rest of Aspinwall and the rest of the FCASD. Should some part of the new 33rd need to be removed to balance population, I would suggest that Etna be placed in the 30th district with Millvale. Etna is part of the Shaler School District and additionally shares many economic and development interests with Millvale. Finally, the piece of property housing the Waterworks strip mall is districted out of HD33 and into a city district. The property is entirely residential and making a carve out for an area with no residents to represent seems unnecessary. Overall, a fantastic job. Thank you.
