Districts that keep communities whole
Centre County has been divided into four different House Districts for the past 10 years. That has effectively resulted in our community having NO representation in the PA House, The current proposal rectifies this by keeping geographic areas together. Our school districts, our county government, our township boards have had to deal with multiple authorities whenever they want to do anything. The proposed maps solve this problem by keeping communities that belong together in a single House District. The proposed Senate map would be more fair if it kept Hispanic communities together, which is not an issue in our area, but we know how it feels to be denied representation. If Democracy is to succeed, we have to treat everyone fairly.
