Comment on proposed redistricting of Northampton
I am a resident of Northampton Township and have been for over 30 years. I know this process of drawing the legislative maps every 10 years turns into the Gerrymandering process for which ever political party is in power at that time. The current proposal would eliminate 3 current districts in Northampton and place some in Langhorne. We only have one fire department, one school district. I don't see what the advantage is of breaking out the districts. Will this make the populations more equal? Will it ensure better representation? Or is more to just assure that one party retains their majority.
