Disagree with House redistricting proposal
Does this make sense before I submit - or am I missing something. I don’t know crap about politics but I know when the government tells me I’ll be better off, I better watch out. I am a home owner and business owner in Harborcreek Twp, Erie County and I do not support this redistricting proposal. By splitting my township in to two districts, you have ensured that our township will not get the attention it would have received if our collective voting power was held together. With your proposal, you have weakened our power to hold our representative accountable. Now we must try to hold two representatives accountable with only half the power. The likelihood of great things happening in Harborcreek will diminish significantly. Additionally, Harborcreek Township leans conservative, while the district you are proposing placing part of the township in leans more heavily liberal. Your proposal will not only reduce Harborcreek’s voting power as a whole, but you’ve essentially thrown a chunk of their conservative voters into a democrat-dominated district that they’ll never feel represented in. I understand your intent, but I believe your proposal is not in our community’s best interest.
