comment on redistricting
I would just like to voice my opinion on the upcoming map proposal by the Legislative Reapportionment Commission. I live in Burnham borough, less than (5) minutes from Lewistown Pa., which is in Mifflin County where most of the agencies we use are located, and yet you will place Burnham borough in a whole different district that is located in the Mifflinburg area . I feel this is not acceptable in dividing up the 82nd district just to have the population around the same size. If I should require any type of assistance from my state representative, I would have to travel quite a few miles away or contact my state representative who has no idea what is going on in my area. It seems to me there should be a better way to handle this issue then splitting up the 82nd district and causing more problems for the citizens of Mifflin county.
