Proposed State House District 148
I do not support the proposed State House District 148. It includes a carve-out for my neighborhood so that we are not represented by the same person as most of the rest of my township (Lower Merion) or county (Montgomery). It is frustrating to have districts cross political boundaries. It is frustrating and difficult to have a local government represented by multiple state representatives because there is a potential lack of alignment between the state representative (who may take positions that represent their majority of constituents but whose majority of constituents are not aligned with my local government decisions or actions). I support the State People's map for State House District 182, which clearly aligns my state representative with my Lower Merion township local government. I feel that this map provides me with the greatest opportunity to be heard and allows my local government to act most effectively in alignment with the majority's views in my neighborhood and my local government.
