Do Not Split Lehigh Valley's Cities

The preliminary senate districts for the Lehigh Valley are blatantly unconstitutional. The State Constitution clearly states: “unless absolutely necessary no county, city, incorporated town, borough, township or ward, shall be divided in forming either a senatorial or representative district.” It is not necessary to split the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem as draft maps have shown, as well as the accompanying school districts - the largest in the Lehigh Valley. These communities deserve to be whole and in their own respective districts to preserve their influence. A fair map that complies with the state constitution demands that the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem remain whole and in separate State Senate districts.
